Cliche Poem

There is this boy.
He may seem like he cares for nothing,
But now this… still waters run deep.
He has a big heart and is really caring.
I wish everything could be his way.
But there is one thing I have no control over,
That hurts him night and day…
He is crazy in love.
Not with me, but with another desired human.
This boy will talk to me
And describe his love
He says this person’s eyes are the window to his soul.
That the person he fell for doesn’t need to be gorgeous on the outside,
Because he already is gorgeous, on the inside.
But, this boy will always cry his eyes out
Because he knows that they can never be.
Never be together, at least not in this life time.
So, he puts on an act,
He dresses himself in a costume and becomes someone else.
And tries to look at the brighter side of things.
He cannot help it.
This love he has is larger than life itself.
To love this person, it takes all of his energy
And throws it out the window.
He will tell himself to just get by for now.
That he knows it can never be.
Whatever floats your boat
Is what he tells himself constantly.
But, it won’t last long
He is about to sink.
This boy refuses to tell himself
The reality, he wants to live in his fantasy.
If the shoe fits, wear it a wise person once told him.
And he knows the shoe fits.
It is his size and everything.
But, why can’t he wear it, something is stopping him.
For this boy, trying to love this person
Spending every minute of every day,
To care and show great affection,
To just be declined and not noticed,
Is as useless as toilet paper.
