Irony and Ambiguity

At first, I thought irony was how a character showed themselves, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, irony is the difference between what the reader expects or what seems suitable and the reality of what happens. There are three types of irony they are verbal irony, situatinal irony, and dramatic irony.I also learned about ambiguity. I used to think ambiguity was the reason a character does anything, but I learned that ambiguity is a part of text with multiple meanings in which something can be interpreted in a number of different ways. On my irony and ambiguity pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be at or above grade-level.
